Where It All Started: SLGM Background
The Society of Local Government Managers of Alberta (SLGM) is a registered regulated professional association representing professionals in local government management.
Founded in 1988 and registered under the Professional Occupational Associations Registration Act in 1991, the SLGM focuses on the professional practice of its members and the educational programs provided to local government practitioners by postsecondary institutions and works closely with the University of Alberta to ensure their programs meet the Society’s core competencies.
