CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (CAO)

Thorhild County invites applications for the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).  The CAO reports directly to Council and is responsible for the effective implementation of all operations of the County in accordance with provincial legislation and Council approved policies and programs.  The position requires an individual who can identify, evaluate risks and maintain high levels of efficiency and productivity while developing policies and procedures and make decisions in a timely manner.  The CAO manages the operating and capital budget, provides strategic direction and monitors contracts and legislation.  Strong leadership skills, logical decision maker, a self-starter and managing office resources are skills required for this role.

Thorhild County is located approximately one-hour northeast of Edmonton. Hamlets/urban service areas within its boundaries include:  Abee, Egremont, Long Lake, Newbrook, Opal, Radway and Thorhild .  The County has a population of over 3,200 and offers all amenities, including excellent education facilities. The County Office is situated in the Hamlet of Thorhild. Thorhild County will be particularly attractive to outdoor enthusiast and one of the greatest lifestyle amenities is Long Lake Provincial Park.

Candidates should possess certification in NACLAA Level I and II (National Advanced Certificate in Local Authority Administration) or equivalent.
